New U.S. Consulate General - Hyderabad, India
When Caddell was awarded the contract to design and build the New U.S. Consulate General in Hyderabad, India, it quickly became apparent this one was different from the dozens of other diplomatic facilities completed to date. Often referred to as “Cyberabad,” the city of 10.8 million people hosts such well-known companies as Google, Microsoft, Amazon and Oracle. Yet this bustling high-tech city is one of stark contrasts. Ancient temples and palaces are directly adjacent to new high-rise office buildings, and historic, culturally significant sites are under extreme pressure from the fast-paced development.
This project had it all. Dramatic, stunning design. Layers upon layers of complexities and challenges. Architectural elements married seamlessly with structural requirements. Logistical labyrinths and highest of high-tech security. And that’s not even mentioning the thousands of snakes (think cobras and pythons!), enormous rock formations, or nearly 1,000 workers living together during the global pandemic in Asia. Through it all, the Caddell team led the way with unmatched distinction. Together with an exceptional client team, they created an atmosphere of trust, respect and collaboration that has become the new standard for diplomatic construction worldwide. Asia’s largest U.S. consulate truly represents the best in construction excellence.
This project won numerous state and national construction excellence awards and was a feature story in Caddell’s 2023 Year in Review corporate magazine. Click here and scroll to page 13 of 35 to read more about the challenges and excellence of this complex project.
