Being a positive corporate citizen is a value we hold very tightly. Sure, we give financial donations to charities near and far. But giving back is more than giving money. At Caddell, community involvement means quarterly visits to the elderly as employees give their time delivering hot meals and warm smiles through Meals on Wheels. It means getting our hands dirty twice a year at our local community garden in an at-risk neighborhood. It means being physically present to stand and applaud young African American scholars as they change the statistics that stack against them. It’s swinging hammers at our Rebuilding Together employee work days. It’s taking time away from the office or project to give a jobsite tour to high school students who are interested in construction, answering every question with honesty and pride.
At Caddell, giving back is a big part of constructing what matters.
Montgomery Area Council on Aging (MACOA)/
Meals on Wheels
Caddell Construction is a corporate sponsor for one of Montgomery’s key organizations supporting the elderly. The Montgomery Area Council on Aging assists senior citizens by providing services to promote independent living, by offering opportunities to enhance quality of life and by increasing community awareness of senior issues.
In addition to a generous annual contribution, Caddell employees participate in the Meals on Wheels program distributing meals to selected shut-in and incapacitated elderly citizens throughout the year and delivering special care bags during the holidays and special occasions. Caddell has the same route each month, and some of our volunteers have been delivering to the same recipients for years.
The Master’s Community Garden
Each year Caddell employees at our corporate headquarters in Montgomery volunteer for a 4-hour shift over a two-day period to assist in planting vegetables (seeds and seedlings) and doing other garden maintenance/cultivation for a highly successful program in a depressed neighborhood offering families free garden plots. The massive annual harvest goes to neighborhood participants, Friendship Mission, and the Montgomery Area Food Bank.
Caddell Community Involvement in
Worldwide Project Locations
Wherever Caddell is building projects, the Caddell project team is making a difference in that local community. Community outreach and support is an integral part of Caddell’s services. We are building new homes, renovating/expanding children’s homes, donating soldier memorials, providing free textbooks to needy students, and a wide range of other community support activities.
A United Way “Pacesetter” Company
Caddell has been one of the Montgomery area’s largest and most active participant firms for more than 30 years. Designated as a “Pacesetter” company, Caddell is a community leader in the total dollars donated, percentage of employee participation and general level of support provided to United Way programs throughout the year.
For more than twenty years, Caddell has provided financing and two days of employee time for home repair and reconstruction teams to renovate houses for under-privileged families. Everyone from the Caddell President & CEO to men and women in the field participate, and there is never a lack of Caddell volunteers.
Caddell is always on the job when disasters hit the River Region and beyond. Caddell has quickly organized teams to travel to storm-devastated locations to help sort and take away debris, cut down fallen trees and limbs, and do whatever might be required to help disaster victims.
Individual Employee Community Contributions
Caddell employees serve our communities as members of various boards of directors for local nonprofits. Many donate their time and resources as youth coaches, Scout leaders, Sunday School teachers, tutors and as volunteers for many other community programs. Caring, quality individuals make up Caddell Construction, and it shows both on and off the clock.
Caddell Corporate Charitable Contributions
Caddell makes major financial contributions to a wide range of local community support organizations surrounding our offices and project sites each year. Donations are made to those organizations that can demonstrate a tangible and consistent benefit to those whom they serve. The company’s giving is administered through an employee-led Charitable Contributions Committee.
