Project Scope

Caddell performed over $73 million of major renovations and additions to the existing VA Medical Complex. The seven-year building program was conducted in two separate phases and involved the full range of demolition, site work, facility upgrades, and new construction. In the initial project phase, Caddell built four separate additions for clinical services, new cutting-edge laboratories, additional recreation areas, and extensive mechanical chiller facilities. The 315,000 SF, six-story clinical addition significantly expanded the research and medical education facilities and provided state-of-the-art medical equipment, a new cardiac cath laboratory, non-invasive diagnostic cardiology equipment, a second CT scanner, a new MRI, and two linear accelerators for radiation therapy. Caddell’s second phase involved renovations to administrative offices, a new surgery suite, upgrades to cardiac, neurosurgery, orthopedic and surgical services, and a new intensive care unit.
