Project Scope
Caddell was responsible for the construction of a new 58,000 SF, four-story, 57-room lodge and conference center with a full-service restaurant, conference rooms, and a ballroom. Cedar shake roof shingles and siding, exposed laminated-wood structural beams, and extensive millwork were incorporated. The remote and undeveloped site required the construction of a steep grade access road, water well and storage tank, wastewater treatment facilities, and extensive utilities.
This unique facility commands a remote mountaintop setting and features a range of specialty materials. The architectural style is rustic but elegant with an emphasis on natural materials. The exterior features local Georgia fieldstone and bricks with only Georgia #2 pine permitted for structural elements. All drywall is finished to Class-5 quality. Interior highlights include custom pinewood paneling, staircases with fine millwork details, massive stone and river rock fireplaces, and custom metalwork for door hardware.
