Project Scope
Caddell was responsible for all aspects of construction for a new seven-story, cast-in-place concrete Federal Transfer Center (FTC) with 799 medium-security and 87 maximum-security cells. The exterior walls of this facility consisted of concrete block and brick with a steel frame glazing system. The roof was a single ply and a steel frame bridge.
The facility houses offenders and parole violators who have yet to be assigned to a permanent prison facility. Most inmates who enter the federal prison system come through this facility. The FTC is located adjacent to the Will Rogers World Airport and serves as the main hub of the Justice Prisoner and Alien Transportation System popularly known as Con Air.
