Mechanical Estimator – Governmental

 

Job Title – Electrical Estimator – Governmental

Location – Montgomery, AL

What You Will Do

  • Develop and maintain relationships with electrical and associated sub-system subcontractors to build a reliable nationwide network of partners to support Caddell in the successful pursuit and construction of projects
  • Reviews and understands electrical and associated sub-system requirements within government RFPs/bid documents for either bid-build or design-build projects
  • Manages schedule/priorities to meet various bid dates and deadlines
  • Develops budgetary estimates for both bid-build and design-build projects
  • For design-build projects, provides pre-bid engagement with the design team to provide collaboration on the most cost-effective design and equipment that complies with RFP requirements
  • Coordinates bid solicitations for electrical and associated systems subcontractors and vendors
  • Maintains engagement with subcontractors during the bid process to ensure adequate competition
  • Receives and analyzes subcontractor and vendor quotes on bid day; coordinates with the Senior Estimator to determine the proper scope and budget carried in the estimate.
  • Develops and negotiates project-specific scope for subcontracts
  • Provides post-award engagement with the design team on design-build projects to ensure design aligns with the project budget
  • Ensures selected electrical subcontractor is engaged with the designer during the design process
  • Develops historical cost data
  • Assembles bid documentation
  • Attend pre-bid meetings/site visits as needed
  • Working Conditions – Office setting, no travel required, full-time
  • Reporting Structure – Senior Estimator

Education / Experience – Minimum high school diploma/GED and ten years of construction management experience required. Four-year degree in building science, construction management, or engineering, and seven plus years estimating and/or managing projects similar to governmental DoD, correctional-type projects.

While the salary range is typically between $69,900 – $104,900 annually, applicants are encouraged to share compensation expectations as part of the application process.
