Caddell Construction has announced a key C-suite addition and two additional executive promotions. Ricky Byrd has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer, Zach Moore to President – Commercial and Michael Lewis to Vice President – Governmental.

Ricky Byrd Promoted to Chief Operating Officer
Byrd joined Caddell in 2017 with the mission of helping the company diversify by building a Commercial group from the ground up—with nothing but a vision and a plan. He began by launching the company’s first corporate branch office in Bentonville, AR, alongside now President – Commercial Zach Moore. What began as a two-person effort has grown into a team of more than 150 employees that now contributes nearly one-third of Caddell’s annual profit.
According to Mac Caddell, this proven track record of success will benefit the company as a whole, as Byrd expands his area of responsibility for operational excellence throughout Caddell Construction’s footprint in the commercial, governmental and international space. “Ricky has proven himself to be a tremendous leader,” Caddell said. “He has a unique ability to surround himself with top-notch talent and create an environment where people excel under high expectations. I have no doubt that Caddell will thrive under his operational direction.”
Prior to his promotion to COO, Byrd served as vice president, senior vice president and president of the Commercial business unit. He has nearly 25 years of construction industry experience leading large, complex projects and building strong relationships with clients and project teams. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from the University of North Florida and an M.B.A. from Georgia Southern University. Byrd is a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Associated General Contractors of Arkansas.
Zach Moore Promoted to President – Commercial
Moore joined Caddell nearly a decade ago to help build the Commercial business unit from the ground up. Throughout his career with Caddell, Moore has held several leadership roles, including project manager, director of operations, vice president and senior vice president. He has been directly responsible for delivering more than $1 billion in profitable work.
“Zach is a strong, steady leader who cares deeply about our people and our clients,” Caddell said. “The Commercial group is what it is today because of the foundation he helped build, and he is ready for this next step. I know the team will continue to execute and earn repeat business under his leadership.”
Moore earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from the University of North Florida. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Benton County Sheriff’s Office Police Athletic League and on the Construction Advisory Boards for John Brown University and Northwest Arkansas Community College.
Michael Lewis Promoted to Vice President – Governmental
Lewis brings more than 25 years of construction industry experience and has held a variety of roles throughout his career at Caddell, including estimating, international field operations, purchasing, contracts, quality control and project management. Prior to this promotion, he served as a construction executive with oversight of $3.3 billion of work.
“Michael has built a reputation across our industry as a true professional with an unmatched work ethic,” said President – Governmental Stephen Strickland. “Over the past 25 years, he has contributed to some of Caddell’s most significant projects and has consistently earned the trust of our clients and partners.”
Lewis earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is a LEED Accredited Professional in Building Design + Construction and holds numerous industry certifications related to safety, quality management and construction technology.
