The Vocational Training Facilities Project at Wheeler Correctional Facility Wins Top National Project Excellence Honors

A Caddell Construction Company project has won top honors in the 2017 Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) National Project Excellence Competition.  Caddell performed the design-build of state-of-the-art diesel and welding training facilities at a Georgia county prison operated by CoreCivic (formerly Corrections Corporation of America).  This project was selected as winner of the National ABC Eagle Award for best project, nationwide, in the category Pre-Engineered Buildings–a highly competitive category that includes everything from aircraft hangers, office buildings, Walmart-type retail stores, warehouses, and housing to factories, correctional facilities, fire stations, and a wide range of other building types.  Caddell performed a concurrent and almost identical project at another county correctional facility in Georgia, and with the same excellent results.  Special congratulations to Project Manager Jeff Lyons, Project Superintendent/Safety Manager Boone Snider, and Project Manager Pete Johnson (Coffee County project).   Caddell will receive the Eagle trophy at the ABC National Convention in March 2018 in Long Beach, California.

This project has also won top awards at the state-level project excellence competitions sponsored by the Alabama ABC and Alabama AGC chapters.
